Kick off a new grantmaking cycle with Fourth Generation
Are you looking for new ways to connect with others and get involved in your community? Become a member of Fourth Generation!
Fourth Generation, a giving circle hosted by the Minneapolis Foundation, is a hands-on experience to reimagine philanthropy. Every year, this giving circle comes together to dig deep into a critical community issue and pool their resources to make a much bigger difference than they could alone. The group hears from local experts, connects with nonprofits, and learns about grantmaking and the process of collaborative decision-making.
Fourth Generation will kick off its 2024-2025 grantmaking cycle with an event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 18 at Eat Street Crossing in Minneapolis. The event is free and open to all who are interested in learning more about the group.

“Coming to our fall kickoff is a great way to get a sense of what Fourth Generation is all about, meet new and returning members, and see if this giving circle is a good fit for you,” said Sara Lueben, the Minneapolis Foundation’s Director of Collective Giving.
This year, Fourth Generation’s grantmaking will focus on Youth-Led Initiatives.
Last year, Fourth Generation focused on Housing Equity, granting $90,000 to six local organizations working across the region to support Minnesotans experiencing homelessness. Since its founding, and with the support of more than 400 members, Fourth Generation has raised and distributed nearly $800,000 to address issues ranging from mental health to climate justice.
